I have a 1998 Mitsubishi eclipse with a 420A engine. I few monts ago I lost the clutch and found brake fluid on the rear of the slave cylinder by the hydraulic line connection. I replaced the HYdraulic line and after a few monts the leak appeared again. I replaced the line again and a few weeks later it began to leak. This am I cleand around the slave cyl and the line connection and had some one step on the clutch and could not see any leak. I havd checked all the engine mounts and connections as well as Hyd line mounts and every thing seems to be tight. I had some one watch the engine while put the engine in forward and reverse to check and see if there might be some excessive roll. There was none. My next step is to replace the slave cyl at $80. Before I do that I would welcome any ideas

I have no idea what you are doing with the whole "roll" thing.

I don't know alot about the 420A, but I do know mechanics in general. The slave cylinder is a 100 times more likely to fail then the clutch line. So I don't even know why you replaced that.

Also, it is VERY IDEAL (I would almost say necessary), to replace the master cylinder any time you replace the slave cylinder.
