Well, I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with this car to the point where I'm ready to part it all out. It has been missing forever, it still idles, runs, it just sounds like a subaru and has no power. I replaced the timing belt, head, power transistor, coil pack, plugs, wires, ecu, every to get this running, and nothing works. The compression is 130 145 150 130, not the greatest, but I wouldn't think it would cause this condition. However when I pull either the injector or the plug wire on cyl #1 with the car running, nothing changes. When I pulled the plug itself, just the tip is coated in oil, however none of the other plugs are affected. I am at a loss what to do other than replacing the entire motor or blow it up.
 
How is 130 no big deal when the service limit is 121? Did you follow the compression test up with a wet test or better yet, a leakdown test?
 
I wasnt saying that it wasnt a big deal, merely that it is likely not the direct cause of my problems. I performed a wet test and there was a solid 50psi difference between wet and dry. However I don't have the tool to perform a leakdown.
 
I'm not a master tech on anything but I've been doing alot of reading about pretty much everything about dsm's and that big of a difference would indicate bad piston rings. Someone correct me if I'm wrong: big jump in psi means rings, and little diference means somethings wrong in the cylinder head.
