Hey guys, I recently bought the brass bushing for the shifter cables (under the hood). I was able to remove the rubber stock ones from the top one easily, but the bottom one was tough. I managed to get it off only to realize that the center metal sleeve was still attached to the rod. Does anyone know how to remove it? I tried pulling it with pliers and tapping it and nothing. Please help.

Try a drop of lube, tapping some more, and twisting it off with pliers. If it is still a no-go, just cut it off.

Although I haven't had your exact problem, I have had bushings stick like that. I generally try to heat them up with a propane torch. The different rates of expansion for the metals generally makes it easy to slip it off. If that doesn't work, like locke said, cut that sucker off.
