I just got a 92 TSI FWD and it ran fine and all but after i got it home i shut if off and it wouldnt start back up. I checked the fuses and the alternator fuse and radio fuze were blown so i changed them, sitll nothing. THen I changed the battery and nothing (by nothing i mean it will crank but wont start) so I took some starter fluid and sprayed it in the TB then replaced the hose and tried, it kind of started for a sec then it went back to cranking. I looked at the alternator and one of the conectors the gos into it had some oil crap on it but i dont think this can affect the car, right? so since it tries to start with the starter fluid dose that mean the it has no fuel? how can i check if its the fuel sistem? like to check the pump, or is there any fuses or something that might of went out shuting down the fuel pump? hey thanks for helping

when you turn the key on you should hear a mild whine or electric motor sound, and thats the fuel pump... if you hear it then you fuel pump is probably okay
