Just recently I put a used jdm turbo motor into my non turbo 1g talon. I had my fuel pump replaced as well with a walbro 255. My car had been sitting and not running for about 9 months. I just put 500 miles on the new motor and clutch. I been trying to take it easy on everything till now, but last night I got on it pretty hard. Today I changed my motor and tranny oil. I was having problems with 2nd gear when it was cold, so I put pennzoil synchromesh in and it drove fine.

But then when I was going down the road it just died on me, almost like it was in neutral. The gas pedal wouldn't do anything. I was able to downshift and the motor revved up somewhat, then all of a sudden it started running fine again. So I turned around to come home and it kept happening. Then it started to stall out and I had a hard time getting it to restart. It got to the point where I could only go 1/4 mile before it died again so I just had it towed.

What could be causing this? My dad seems to think that it's not getting enough fuel from a plugged up fuel filter or line. What else could it be?

O.k., I looked at the car today and I have no fuel getting to the motor at all. As I said before, this is a non turbo to turbo conversion. I just had a shop install a walbro 255 fuel pump. Anyone have any idea why all of a sudden I this would start happening? Any help would be much appreciated.

The 255 is sucking harder than the old stocker, so it may have sucked up the sediment and other crap thats been sitting in your gas tank, check out the fuel lines after the filter and see if the gas is making it past that point. It may have just clogged it up.
Just an idea, I might be wrong LoL
Good luck.

EDIT: I really need to read whole posts before writing my own, I think your dad is right. Only one way to find out :thumb:

i agree. i would also look into doing a rewire on your fuel pump. Don't forget to check your basics, like fuses, relays, make shure the fuel pump is on. You could have a leak

fuel filter is always the firsh thing you replace when you put in a new fuel pump. there cheap and painless to instal.
