Hey guys,
I just recently finished putting my system back together after a bad turbo went on me. Everything seems great, except now whenever I boost I can hold it pretty long (10psi+), but only on like half throttle. If I try to boost any harder or go over 50% throttle it just breaks up and loses all power. Now, I can hear a whooshing sound as I boost, but I'm hoping its just the air filter making that noise. To me, it feels like a boost leak, but I have tested my intercooler piping up to 25psi and it holds like a champ.
Now, the last turbo blew, and sprayed oil all into the intake piping and everything of course. I cleaned it out pretty well, but there is still 'some' oil in there, but I don't think its enough to do what its doing. All I see in the piping is a trail of oil, no puddles in the intercooler or anything.
The only thing out of the ordinary I have seen is that when doing my leak test, i had a very very small leak from an injector, but just moving it a little fixed that. It no longer leaks during the test. Also, that same injector ticks when you feel it, and you can feel that tick up the entire injector wire. The other three injectors do not do this, but I would think that if something were too horribly wrong with that injector I wouldn't really be able to drive the car too well right? One last thing, having to do with that same cylinder, is that one of my old spark plugs terminal that you gap to actually broke in that cylinder, so it moved up and down. I replaced the plugs, and are now looking fine after boosting and running over 150 miles. I'm thinking that these were all coincidences with this cylinder, as it is now looking like the rest of them besides the ticking, but that could just be the injector working i suppose.
Any ideas? Anything to help me. I just checked the bov and it had a ton of oil in the top portion (imitation greddy rs) from the vacuum line. I vented to atmosphere for the first time (just to see if the whooshing sound was louder because it could have come out of the bov, but it sounded the same). Don't worry it is now recirculated as always.
EDIT: My Mods:
FMIC w/2.5" piping
550cc RC Injectors
SAFC NEO
Walbro 190
MBC
Ported 14b
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot.
