ive searched and read but not finding the exact problem im having.
ok my 91 auto awd tsi is seeming to have tranny problems. She dosent seem to be shifting into O/D.the tranny is not going into O/D not just shifting into N like others are experencing.she is also not downshifting when i press the accell pedal to the floor.
the tranny fluid is red and dosent smell burnt and no A/T temp warning light comes on.
could this also be the end clutches,or more serious internal problems???the last owner said it has a new tcu also.
on a side note the auto meter A/F gauge said it was super lean.could this have been from prolonged driving in 3rd at 50mph???(had to get it home was 20 min ride)

im hoping so.ill open er up and check it out when time allows.for now shes going in storage till i can fix properly.

acually ive done more reading on the forums and found that the tranny is stuck in limp mode.ive opened the TCU AND FOUND ONLY ONE LEAKING CAP.The tcu also smells of fish so its most likely the culperet.as soon as money allows ill replace and repost if it fixes.
