Niagara,
I've been hearing some rattling coming from the front driver side. I figured out that it's my inner brake pad, its able to move up and down freely. The passenger side is nice and snug. I recently upgraded my brake rotors and pads, I noticed this sound before I upgraded my brakes, and after as well.

What could this be? Is it a broken clip, or are the brake pads installed backwards or something? I'm baffled, if you can help out, that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

I would assume that one or more of the retaining clips holding the pad in place need to be replaced. Do you have a pic?

I believe the caliper is floating. I am kind of unsure what you mean by that.
Other then that, I was able to move the inner brake pad up and down with my finger. I don't have any pics right now.Its my daily driver and I work 5 days a week, I haven't had much time to play around with it.

Are those clips replaceable, and can anyone link me a place to get these? Thanks

i would think he means by not floating is that is not sliding on the sliders when you apply the brakes. so when you push the brake pedal the piston moves out and the caliper does not move and when the piston retracts back into the caliper it leaves a space between the rotor and the pad and its not a snug fit like it should be. i would pull the caliper off and check the sliders for rust and or corrosion. if there is traces of either get some fine grit sandpaper and clean them off and apply some lube that you get at your auto parts store for the calipers sliders or i just use wheel bearing grease. either will work.

Check what has been said above about the caliper float/no float, and if you need clips, and local autoparts store should have a set.
