I bought a Greddy Oil cap thinking that it was of a higher quality that cheap ebay oil caps, but I have no idea where the oil is coming from. The area around, in front of, behind and under the oil cap is clean.

Anyone else have this problem?

Well Dee, I highly doubt the oil is coming from anywhere else but under it (you probably already figured that out). If I remember correctly, the new Lancer Evolution VIII oil cap fits right on. Mach V sells them here. As you can see in the same link, you can also pick up the OEM oil cap for cheap too. :)

You realize Greddy's personnel service won't help you much. Perhaps you could pressure test the cap and see what you find. If you able to do this (I'm not sure how you would go about it, though) you could try using some tire sealer (plugs up the small air leaks) and see how that works for you.

I figured it is probably coming from under the Greddy Badge, because if it was leaking from the side, there would be no way for the oil to get on top of the oil cap.

Haven't checked the underside of the hood. I think I might just go OEM for the oil cap, if I can't figure out the source of the leak.

Thanks guys!
