O.k. I went to the track and crushed a couple of lifters, no biggie, they were old anyways. So I put the big bores in, after I bled them down as told by jackson auto, I put them in and THEY tick. I know they have to pump up and all, But i've driven them for a while now and they still make noise. So I called Jackson and the woman there told me it's cause I'm running 272's. She said that I have to redo all my valvetrain geometry, and mill the bottom of the lifters to make up for the cams. In a way I understand what she meant in that the cam, because of the increased lobe lift, could bottom the lifter in it's body. Makes sense, but I've never heard of this, and why isn't there more mention of it in the community. Has anyone heard of this, Is familiar with this, or has had personal experience with it. I need to know if this is common and if I need to take the head off, AGAIN, and bring it to the machine shop with the cams. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks.
