Ok so I found one of those megan FPR for really really cheap and I have been running my car with a walbro 255 and no aftermarket regulator for about 5 months now. It runs rich and I want to fix that. I searched the Megan FPR and all I see is negative comments about it but they are all out dated and they are all for cars that have upgrades and such. MY car is stock with just free mods. I just want something to control my walbro and I dont wanna pay close to 200 bucks for the AEROMOTIVE you all love. I run 9psi and might change it to 14 or 15 if i get a MBC but thats it. So my question is: Is this a good FPR for me. It is my daily driver and not my race car and I am just looking for the cheapest solution to the walbro pump thats wasting my gas.

p.s. The reason I have a Walbro is because it was cheaper than replacing the stock one when it went bad and I didnt know the stock FPR couldnt handle it.....I know I am an idiot dont kill me :)
Thanks guys :) :laser: :talon: :dsm:

Slowboy has tested them, and said they seem to work fine. I know some threads will say that they don't reference boost, but they do. Slowboy still recommends the aeromotive, since it is time tested, and the megan racing is newer.

The MR afpr requires alot to install though. You still need a rail adapter, lines, and fittings. For stainless lines, the install kit is $100 plus shipping. Just something to consider.

I myself plan on using the megan racing afpr. I was too cheap to buy the aeromotive afpr. I am waiting to install mine until I buy the install kit to mount it to the firewall. For your needs I would look into an afpr that just attaches to rail. They are easier to install, and once you buy the necessary things to correctly install the MR afpr, it would be about the same price. I believe import evolution sells them.

Another option that I don't know if you've considered would be to get a Walbro 190lph pump, sell the 255 and not have to worry about overrunning your fpr as bad. It may still overrun it a little, but it won't be nearly as bad as the 255. Plus the 190 will support a decent amount of upgrades provided you don't go too crazy.

Can you give me some links to cheap ones that mount to the rail. Also I was under the impression that the MR one bolts up fairly easy....the picture shows it with some kind of lines and stuff included. Just a thought?

You know I'm in the same boat as you, although I have more mods so I do need the 255. I have a brand new 190 if you're interested, otherwise it might just be best to spend the extra cash and go with a tried and proven. That's what I'm gonna do.

Ok so I see that B and M FPR and it is cheaper than the megan but it says you can only raise FP not lower it. But if i put it on my stock FPR will it set it back to stock FP like i want, instead of being over run or is this product worthless to me. Just exploring my options?

Here is the link to the product....

The B&M Unit is good if you need to up your Fuel Pressure, but with a large fuel pump, you're going to want to be able to drop down your fuel pressure!

I also have the megan fpr bought it really cheap but don´t know if is boost refered, I will do a test so see if its really or not boost refered, pluggin a compressor at the vacuum line with the car at idle to see if it raise the boost

I put a Megan AFPR on my laser, relatively stock, and it worked great. I did buy a Weapon R fuel rail adapter though, because I heard the megan one doesn't fit well. I'll ###### go with the aeromotive on my GSX, but thats because I'm not broke atm LOL. If on budget, I don't see a problem with the Megan unit.
