I have a 92 Eagle Talon TSI turbo and for some reason the darn thing will not stay running. It starts on first try and then dies 10-15 seconds later. Then upon restart the car will turnover and die immediately. I purchased new plugs regapped them at .032 and reinstalled. Also put in new plug wires. The plugs tips were black with carbon 9 (too rich from what I understand) Also upon start up you can smell the gas. WAY TOO RICH... I dont know where to go from here. Could it be an ECU problem? Could the timing be off bad enough to cause this? Is it possible for the injectors to be stuck open or something along that line? Sorry I am just brain storming because I have no idea whats going on... Thanks for any advice in advance.

Try the basics:
Close the BISS screw a full turn and try... see if it helps any and keep trying that, look for obvious vacuum leaks and major vacuum hoses beeing lose or completely disconnected, check your MAF sensor plug, check you ISC to be correctly plugged in place and maybe even test it if you can (go to www.vfaq.com for reference on testing ISC) try to see if you could check for fuel pressure, your current FPR may be dead... (stuck shut)

Did it start doing this suddenly? or after serious driving?
Did the car sat there for a long period of time?
Did it start doing this after a new part installation?

I can say for sure that the car was sitting for atleast a month. (I just bought it off my neighbor for $100 bucks because he wanted it out of his driveway) He said that the car was running fine and then just stalled one day on him, hence this same problem. The fuel pressure has been checked and pressure does build once turn the car motor over. This was the way that I got the the car. There is no aftermarket parts on the car that I have been able to find unless another owner did motor work. So she is completely stock. However, I did replace the plugs, plug wires, motor oil and oil filter. So that were it is right now. As far as the spark plug gapping goes, the Haynes Repair manual that came with the car stated a .032 gap. Also it was an older woman that was driving the car before I purchased it, so hard driving probably did no cause this problem alone.
