I tried to check my oil today, and when I stuck the dipstick back in the holder, I had trouble getting it back in. At the top of the holder, I found a little plug with a slit in it at the top of the holder. I assume this is supposed to be down lower in the holder. I just shoved the dipstick back in and pushed the plug back down, but now it's a pain in the ass to get the dipstick in and out, and I can't get an accurate read of the oil level. Should I just replace the dipstick holder?

If you want to replace it order it from JNZ he stocks all that stuff and sells it real cheep. I just got one last week.
