Ok i have a 98 N/T eclipse i have been going through and fixing things i have found wrong with it since i bought it and i just tried out the cruise control for the first time and the light to turn cruise on lights up and then when i pull the lever and release it the green cruise in my guage cluster lights up and stays there until i cancel cruise or hit the brake/clutch....but it dosent control speed my car still just slows down or speeds up if going down a hill. From reading a few other posts it sounds like it might be a vacuum leak. Now first i just need to know where the unit is at so i can check the hoses.....second where can i get new vacuum line to put on can i just go to an auto parts store and buy some vacuum line and cut it to size? thanks for the help.

ya im pretty sure its still there cause theres a random cable running acros the engine bay that connects to a black thing.....im not 100% sure where its located in the N/T though because the virtual engine bay tour is for the turbo eclipse.

can anyone tell me where the unit with the hoses for cruise control is located at in the engine bay on a 2gNT 420A engine? Or better yet show get a picture of it?

Ok so i got a chance to look at the cruise control module i found it in the engine bay...anyway looking at it i could only see /feel one hose connected to the unit and i could feel a wiring harness connected to the unit too....should there be another hose connected to it? Or is the problem somewhere else now other than the hoses?

I had the same exact issue and just fixed it on my 1g N/T. Not sure if it is the same on a 2g, but it should be close. There is only one hose that connects the cruise control unit to the cruise control actuator (valve). Mine was horribly ripped on the tips and ghetto taped. The hose is pretty long so I just removed the hose, cut the tips and then put it back again. I did have to remove the actuator (2 bolts) and reinstall it to make it work. I double checked it with a vacuum tester. Works great now! Used it today on my way into work. The links below are for a 1g turbo and 2g turbo, that's all I could find.

1.) Website of 1g Turbo Cruise Control Unit
2.) Website of 1g Turbo Cruise Control Actuator
3.) Website of 2g Turbo Cruise Control Unit
4.) Website of 2g Turbo Cruise Control Actuator
