ok well im not posting without reading a trying myself here, so let me start with i just got my car back together after a re-build and the only thing i changed was 850's and a eprom ecu. the use to run perfect before but was low on compression which is why i rebuilt it. now the eprom ecu i am using use to be bad, and i sent it out to steve here on our boards, he fixed it and i got it chipped for the injectors.

THE PROBLEM- first there are no cel's or stored coeds. now the car will idle perfectly fine on warm up cycle, once it hits like 160-180 idle goes to shit it starts to surge slowly and if i am driving and push the clutch in quickly like you would if you were to slow down for a stop light the cars rpm's drop like a rock and dies out. also to get a decent idle i have to have the idle screw turned all the way in once its warmed up. when cold it has to be like 3-4 turns out to idle correctly. the problem is only once the car is at operating temp.
also its weird i have been having a staring issue with the car as well, like it wont want to start at all some times and the next boom starts in once turn of the key. that starting problem was one of the symptoms that i had when the ecu went bad as well, it would start and the next not.

WHAT I HAVE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM- i read up on ilde surge and so forth, found hout my isc was out of spec. i got a new one, the surge got somewhat better but still surging. then i checked for boost leaks and vacum leaks, i have none. then i made sure my timing was correct. that was good. then i went out and got a new tps adjusted it correctly to no help. pulled the throttle body off and blocked the fiav. no help there. so i decided maybe there still is a leak in the lower part of the throttle body, so i blocked off the fiav and the isc portion of the throttle body. still the same problem!!!!!! the car should not surge and it should hold a idle with them being blocked off am i correct!?! and let me remind you the car only have the idle problem when up to operating temp.:beatentodeath:

WHAT I THINK- i think the ecu may still be bad and some how causing this idle problem once the car is warmed up. i mean thats the only factor that changes things through out the warm up cycle. please someone with any input please help, it is greatly appriated. i just want to drive this damn thing. Thanks a lot for the help Karl-

yes i did try that to no avail.

If you did properly do a grounded BISS idle adjustment, by default you have prevented the ECU from trying to control idle and therefore, the ECU wouldnt be the cause of your low idle.

If you have the ECU grounded, adjusting the BISS SHOULD AFFECT IDLE UP AND DOWN. If it doesnt do this, something is very wrong.
