Timing Belt

I am getting ready to replace the timing belt on my Talon and I was wondering if there is a specific brand that you guys recomend.

yep, OEM is the best way to go unless you are running freakish horsepower, then some go with the Kevlar style, but again OEM is the best bet and replace your tensioner and your water pump while you are there....alot easier that way

if you want to be super cool or are running really high horsepower, you can consider greddy, hks, or others (kevlar reinforced).

i'd just stick with oem. (someone beat me to the post) you might as well replace your pullies too (idler and tensioner). also, if you haven't all ready, you might as well eliminate those balance shafts too while you've got everything apart.

i am actually using a belt made from Gates. company that goes back awhile, and has been in the business for awhile. seems to be doin good, hope it stays that way.

anywho, i was wondering about that eliminating balance shafts thing. dont you need those to reduce vibration in the engine, or can it be done a certain way to still keep vibration down or what. also, what are the benefits of doing that?

You will definitely get more vibration but it may or may not bother you.
