belt broke...bent 13 valves...same old story but i put a temp belt on to do a compression test and #2 had 137 psi, nothing in 1,3,4 but the car started and ran(barely)...all new valves, put it all together and nothing in #2 and 60psi in 1,3,4...car wont start just a sputter at first crank.how do you tell if you are a 180 degrees out of time?what is the firing order?does the coil pack go 1,2,3,4 or 1,4,2,3...i know its something stupid... any help guys???

Did you bleed the pressure out of the lifters before you reassembled it?

yes...I bought the car with a bad head gasket- fixed it no problem...I have a galant and a laser that i have done the samething to and not a problem(problem car,91 talon)...ive done 6 head gasket repairs that why im wondering timming or firing order.

it wants to fire on the first two cranks but then nothing, just cranks...wait awhile then samething...first two cranks then nothing...cylinders full of fuel?did the compression first and you could see fuel blowing out the spark plug hole then i put the plugs in and tried to start it.

when you do the compression test take out the fuel pump fuse so it doesnt squirt any fuel and also make sure your timing is on bring #1 cylinder up to tdc(actually put a long screw driver up to make sure its a tdc) and check the timing marks.

If you know your car is getting fuel there are only 2 other items missing for your car to start and that is spark and air. I would check the ignition system to make sure it is firing

Actually, on a dsm, you can have fuel, spark, and o2 and still not have it fire. It has to fire at the proper time for the a/f mixture to ignite. If the ecu, cas, or power transistor is faulty, it could fire at the wrong time and keep the car from running.

To add, it is common for caps to leak and damage the circuit board and keep the car from running when all 3 requirements(air, fuel, spark) are present. I would pull the ecu, open it up, and inspect for leaking caps and/or damage to the circuit board.
