I have a problem that I cant get rid of it, when i let off the accelerator after boosting the turbo it smokes blue smoke which is oil plus it smells like it. Now the turbo i just sent back to PTE and they rebuilt it so it shouldnt smoke or burn oil. ive been told that having forged rods and pistons can make the motor smoke oil when boosting.

SO....

the only things that i could suspect of making it smoke is a bad turbo rebuild, having forged internals(someone please let me know if this is true), or bad valve seals...

someone please help me with this, any thoughts are welcome.

Check the turbo for shaft play and pull off the lower intercooler pipe to check for leaking oil. If you can, also pull off the O2 sensor housing and/or downpipe to look for signs of leaking oil there. Usually when there is turbo shaft play, the oil will leak out into the LICP by the bucketfull, so if you just have a thin film of oily residue on the walls of the pipe, that's not it.

A compression test is never a bad idea. You should preform one of these as well.

Some easy things to check are: PCV valve, Make sure that the oil return line isn't clogged or kinked. Both of these would cause oil to blow by the seals in the turbo.

the turbo is in great condition, "there isnt any shaft play at all" nor is there any oil in the intercooler piping...

but ya i will do a compression test but it will probly be fine, it runs great.

and ill also check the oil return line also....

any other ideas?????

Are you feeding the turbo from the oil filter housing? If so, is it restricted?

The reason I ask is because my pte also burned oil when it was new. At the time, I was feeding it with a -4an hose from the oil filter housing. I ended up restricting the oil feed with a .078" nos jet and it cured all of my problems. But at the same time, I usually have 100+psi oil pressure at wot so the restriction was needed in my case.

what do you mean -4an hose??

right now im feeding it with a steel braided line and i too have 100+ psi of oil pressure at wot

so maybe i should look into a restriction of some sort?
