Help with Transaxle Please???

Just unbolt the 2 lower arms at the chassis end and remove the damper fork bolt and the entire assembly will swing out far enough to pry the axels out of the tranny. You don't even need to remove them from the hub or undo any ball joints. This worked for me to remove my tranny on my 99 GST and I suspect it will work for your engine removal too.

I have changed a few on dsm's and I only had a problem once on an automatic.
I did all the normal stuff and even tried with a crowbar etc.. The thing would not come out. I had just put these in a year earlier, so I know they were good and should not be giving me aproblem.
I was pulling the tranny anyway, so I just dropped it down with the tranny. I took that back cover off and still could not get the thing out. I assumed that the splines had crossed or something.
I finally got the thing off by taking three large screwdrivers and setting them up equidistant around and using a twisting motion at one time. It finally popped out.
And there wasn't a thing wrong with it. The splines were perfect. Almost like it was vacuum locked.

Anyway, for the most part they just pop out. But even one that was in less than a year gave me a real problem.
