Potential electrical issue?

Recently acquired this vehicle. Seems that opening the driver's side door will not turn on the interior light but the passenger side does. That is issue number one.

Secondly, the gauge cluster. Now, the the ABS and SRS lights won't go out. Also, the odometer is not working...and neither is the trip. So, there is a new cluster in the mail. If not, I am curious if the speed sensor is disconnected...but as of now, have been unable to locate it. I read that it should be by the battery, but way down.

Thirdly, which I think I figured out but would like some verification...the right blinker blinks really quick on the interior. I looked outside and the light is dim. Is that the reason? With my ram it just says light out . Thanks from the newbie.

Answer to your third question is yes, a bad bulb will cause your blinker to blink fast. The resistance is changed..

1. It's probably just the lil switch located in the door jam. It triggers the light. Sometimes they just get stuck. Sometimes they break. If it's not broken, follow the wires.

2. The tranny will have the speedometer cable going in approximately right below the battery. If it was disconnected, it would probably be leaking. Most likely the culprit is the cable. Put the car on jacks, put it in gear and see what the cable is doing. If there are no vibrations, then it's probably the gauge in the car. But my guess is the cable.

3. Sometimes if the bulb is just dim and not out entirely, someone put the bulb in the wrong way. 1157's have two knobs on the side at different heights. The bulb only goes in the socket one way. Some people ignore this and force the bulb in backwards. You see these people on the road when they step on their brake lights on gets brighter and the other one goes out completely. If you change it, make sure you put it in the right way.

Check the reverse light fuse, my SRS light was also on and when i changed the reverse light fuse is whent off.... Let me know if that works.
