Well the other day i was driving home and my alt., battery and brake lights were flashing on and off well it got worst and it finally died on me. Well the next day i went to change the battery so i could drive it home cause i thought it might have been my alt. plus i was only 2 miles from my house. Well i decieded to just try starting it before i changed my battery and it started right up. When i got home i decieded to change my ecu cause i thought it might have been the problem. After that i changed my alt. too just in case that was the problem. Well after that i tried to start it and it would just click so then i changed the starter. Well the starter didnt help it does the same thing so i changed the battery and cleaned my termanials really good to see if that was the problem and still wouldnt start. Also i checked my fuses under the hood and all of them are good. So ive decieded that i need help with this one because its out of my reach and i have to be able to drive to work. Soif anyone could help me out i would be very thankful!

Oh and i forgot to tell yall that it did crank up once the other day but then i shut it off and tried again and it just clicked after that.

Couple things (if not already done):
- Make sure that the battery terminal connectors (both positive nad negative) are nice and clean on the inside with no obvious pitting that could limit electrical transfer. Same goes for the battery (-) to to chasis ground.
- Make sure that all the positive and negative connectors at the battery are clean (use fine sandpaper to remove corrosion) and dress with a bit of dielectric tuneup grease.
- Make sure that all battery connections (and the terminal clamps themselves) are secure.
- Make sure the wiring from the battery to the alternator is ok as well as the 80A Alternator fuse's mounting bolt is tightly secured (not sure if same on 2Gs) and the fuse itself is not partially blown.

Yeah i have done all of that but ill check everything again just to make sure cause i have ran out of ideas of what it could be.

I would suggest getting a multimeter and testing actual voltages. You should have battery voltage at the big post on the battery at all times. When you crank, you should have battery voltage or pretty close to the little pin on the starter also. If not, then you have lost it somewhere. You can also put your test light on the positive post and check your grounds. If you have good grounds and good positive connections, it should start. Don't just go swapping parts. You can accidentally install a defective "new" part and really screw yourself up. I get bad parts all the time. Got 2 today. One bad electric fuel pump and a defective AC line. Get some actual voltage readings and post it in here.

Good Luck

Well i tested the my battery and it had 12.3 v my starter was getting 12 v and i used my grounds to see if they were good. so then i pulled my starter off to see if i could get it to spin well it did so i know its good but after i put it back on it doesnt click anymore it just makes a humming noise???

Ok Well i got my old starter tested today and it was still good. So im thinking this started happening after i changed my alt. out cause it went bad but i replaced it with a used one from a parts car but its only a few months old so the alt shouldnt be bad. Could this be my problem???

Well i know it isnt the alt. so ive decieded to change the power cord that goes to the battery to make sure it isnt shorting out. I was also thinkin maybe my flywheel might be out of wack?? If anyone has any new ideas tell me what you think.

check your ignition from the key to the injectors
do you have a turbo timer?
also have you looked into your fuel delivery (fuel pump)
have you replaced your MPI?
Does the engine crank when you put the key in?

no the car doesnt turn over it just clicks like the starter is bad but its a new one that i just bought so i know its good plus the old one was still good so its not the starer.

ok i just started the car up and ran it for about ten min. and came back home and turned it off and it wouldnt start again. The only thing that i really did was adjusted my ground on my battery so im thinkin its just a bad ground.

Ok so my car is up and running thank god! My ground to my battery is not good so i have to play with it every time i start the car and i need to add another ground wire so i dont have to do that. I couldnt understand why my car wasnt fixed after i changed all those parts and it was somthing as simple as a faulty ground. The thing is i messed with the ground sevreal times and it still just clicked thats why at first i didnt think that was the problem but it turned out to be it. But i want to thank all of yall that posted with the help.
