So today I washed the engine bay of my 91 dsm with simple green. Now after I cleaned everything the car seems to stutter alot and jumps when shifting/accelerating? Im not sure if its due to getting anything wet like the crank angle sensor or anything like that? any one else have this problem before. Btw the crank angle sensor was not covered, b/c I did not know this was an issue till i did some reasearch on washing my engine bay. Any advice on fixing the hopping?
:(

when that happen to me i let it heat up till the steam started to come off the engine and turned it off let cool for 10 mins with hood up, thats what i did. scared me at frist it would stall out or not go past 1500 rpms. but it was ok later

I've let it cool for awhile now... I'll go start it agian in a few see if time has fixed the problem

then i got the idle fix and cool down i did some round town drive with try to keep the revs as low as possible (5spd) went about 35-40 in 5th for a while after that was fine but just do what i did and it should work it self out and check to see if you got water in the oil cap and intake etc

well i just took it out.. It seems fine as far as I could tell but ill have to wait about another 2 weeks before I can drive it again soo ill see if it has any more problems with it then thanks for the help silver

Next time i wash my engine i will let it air dry on a hot day and let it cool down over night and wash it in the morning block off spots where water can get into air filter, breather element, dip stick etc. and not drive that day.
