ok here is the run down. car has a 50 trim with many bolt-ons. its a 95 tsi. car was running a little rich but was pulled 22ish psi and driving great. i blew the head gasket. so i replace that and did everything accord to the service manuals. the timing IS CORRECT. i have replaced the plug and regapped them. changed ignition wires and did a compression test. it has been changed to a cam angle sensor according to roadrace eng. , was changed before head gasket blew. i have tried advancing and retarding timing using the CAS but that does not signicicantly change anything and its still rpm specific.

if you rev the car in neutral it revs up fine and only spudders once you hit the rev limiter. once there is load on the car and you begin to take off once you hit 2600-3000 rpms its spudders like crazy and you can not push the gas pedal down any farther then say 1/4 throttle. if you pass that amount of throttle the car gets increasingly worse. this happens in every gear including reverse. if you are driving then depress the clutch you can rev it past 3000 rpms and the spudder is not there but as soon as you let it out the rpms go between the 2600-3000 and has the typical issues. i do have an safc 2. the only other thing i can think to do is to check for boost leaks but i would thing that should not change this issue. i do have a 100% stock 98 gst that i can swap parts out to test. i can not think of anything specifically that would cause these drivign problems. if anyone has any ideas i would love to hear them or if you have some safc setting that might also be helpful.
