Alright I have a major issue...Hondas are beating me, and its ####ing pissing me off. well anyways ok it seems like when my boost starts to go above 0, which is very natural, my car spudders and seems like its losing performance. Most will say its a boost leak right off, but heres the thing, my buddy was driving behind me, and he says that he is seeing flames shooting out my exhaust, and that doesnt sound to natural for a almost stock gst. i just changed my plugs and fuel fliter, what should i do?

Blowing flames is usually a dead giveaway that you're running overly rich. Since boost leaks will cause this condition more than anything else on a turbo motor, that's exactly where I'd start. Perform a proper boost leak test and get back to us with the results. On a stock motor with a stock turbo, make sure the intake system can hold 20psi for 30 seconds before bleeding down.

Depending on your motor's mileage, it may also be helpful to check for restrictions in your exhaust such as a clogged catalytic converter. If you can see through the cat when holding it up to a light source, it's still working, but if you can't it's collapsed.

As a final measure, take the car to a local AutoZone and have them hook up a code reader to see if they can pull any check engine lights (CEL) that would indicate sensor trouble like a poorly functioning O2.

Let us know what you find,

Andy

I changed my spark plug wires, and what do ya know it fixed it, runs perfect...till the next day i dont even knwo what happened, but when i get boost past 10 it will be sluggish or pop and a cloud of smoke will pop out the exhaust, what do you think it could be? plugs not gapped right? or something else?
