LOUD squeek from the drivers side wheel whenever I move my steering wheel

well just like the topic says, my car just started making a nasty noise when ever i turn the wheel. It started right after I jacked up my car to change the oil. It only makes the noise when the car is on the ground because i jacked it up today and it made no sound when i moved the wheel but as soon as i set it down the sound was back. after some quick seraching i came up with a few things to check but i was still looking for more help. thanks guys/girls

Check your power steering belts and fluids. Does it do this while you're at a stop with the vehicle on and you turn the wheel? Or just while moving and turning.

Possibly check the P/S belt tension. Its a 99 so pretty new check the P/S fluid too. Make sure your rims is completely on the hub. With it being a 99 thow and your location corrosion is out on the hub... mmm Is the car lowered?

This may sound funny, But I had a accord a couple years ago, and when i jacked the car up one day, the axle boot kidda mushed in, like it wasnt round. I cant explain it well, but just a fluke, check the boots. Also there is no strain on the powersteering pump when the car is jacked up, so if Its that, you wouldnt hear it when shes jacked up anyways.

it has happened to me. Theres a few threads. I freaked out for awhile. then it stoped out of no where, In the Process i got my ball joints replaced and all the recalls. Has it rained at all lately? I have realized when It is wet out, it comes back once and awhile. Try your recalls. If their already done, Im not sure what else, Id say wait to see if it stops, But it might not, maybe just my case. But if it has been wet out and puddles, think about not jumping on it immidatly if your recalls were already done

I'm willing to bet that it's your upper balljoint. Jack the car back up and look at the balljoint on the top A arm.. poke a small hole in that rubber surround and squirt some WD40 in there. I bet the noise will be gone. If so, I don't recommend WD40 as a permanent solution.

Okay lets answer some of these questions. First off the car is not lowered and I check all my fluids regularly so the p/s fluid is normal. the belts are all fine and its not that kinda sound anways. It sounds like its coming from the top end of the wheelwell which led me to believe that it may be my upper ball joint. I'll check and see if the recals have been done and everything else. Thanks for the input and keep the help coming

OK easy to check the upper ball joint remove the rim. Have the car on jack stands put some might into it and see if u can move that top ball joint easily. if its moving up/down its a gonner. I've tested them that way and also by putting a little jack under the lower ball joint and raising alittle to see if you can move around. Just a suggestion All 3 ball joints on the 2G front in there have short lifes unfortunally

I will say check the ball joints as well. Same thing happened to me only it was the lower.
