I have a 92 DSM that I have been trying to start since over 2 months ago, my dad was driving it when all of the sudden the timing belt snapped. I thought it was no big deal so I replaced the inner and outer timing belts since I had done it before, and it didn't start. I have one of those chilton import car repair manuals that shows where all the timing marks are so I know it is not the timing of the car. I also replaced the spark plugs and wires, ignition coil, fuel filter, and I even had the engine computer checked and it still won't start. When I try to start it, it back fires so I know the fuel injectors are working just fine. I have taken apart everything so I can see the timing marks over 3 times now.

When a timing belt get to snapping, the valves get to bending. The head needs pulled and some work WILL undoubtedly need done. All the other stuff you did was a waste of time. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :dsm:

Nothing hard to find here. When a DSM loses cam timing, valves bend. Better than 99% of the time.
Luckily, used heads are still cheap and plentiful.
