I put a new fuel filter on my car because it had very sluggish acceleration. I also cleaned the positive battery terminal because it was very corroded. And it made the car 100%, trust me. But then the same exact problem came back so i took the fuel filter out and put another new one in, but the old one wasn't dirty. So the car ran 100% again then the same problem. So i bought NGK plugs and new wires, I did a leak test and had to put a new throttle body on. Then the car was running alot better. But not about 50% of the time when I floor it, the boost goes to 13-15, but car accelerates slower then a turtle. You see the name of this member? He likes it to be true, but now I'm lying, Please help! :coy:

Maybe then look into some new stainless braided fuel lines, since after changing the fuel filter it seemed better for a period of time. Maybe the filter is getting clogged somehow. Hard to tell at this point.

i had the same problem on my gst for the last year and finally figured out what it was. it sounds like you might be having phantom knock. if the ecu is reading knock, phantom or not then its gonna pull timing. making the car extremely slow, but still boosting full boost. a set of 3g lifters fixed this for me. are you hearing any lifter tick at all?

Hey super97gst, I am having the same problem that the original starter of this thread had. I have a lifter tick, would this set off my ecu reading phantom knock? Also how much did your 3g lifters run you?

Report back on how bad lifter tick is one your car if any, than check for phantom knock, do a compression test, and do a boost leak test pronto.
