My car is smoking like a mofo!

Out of the exhaust, out of the tube coming out of the valve cover, out of the thing where you check the oil level (if i lift it up). It smells like gas its like a white smoke. And when i rev the car a little you hear like a gurgling sound like its being flooded with fuel.

Anyone know what the hell could be wrong?

I've seen this happen and it's ended up being fried piston rings. But wait for others to respond because I could be wrong.

1. What color is the smoke?

2. How are the pcv and breather valves routed?

3. Were you boosting hard right before this happen?

4. Any work done recently?

More questions...

Do you have a fuel pressure regulator?

Are you losing any fluids?

What psi are you running at?

i have the same problem with mine right now. i know i have shaft-play on my turbo and im pretty sure the seals for the turbo is leaking. but i dont know why there are so much excessive white smoke. i was jus running 15psi on a 16g and im pretty sure my turbo went out because of not lettin the turbo cool down long enough and that's my fault but the white smoke thing, i have no idea what it could be.

If the smoke smells sweet and is white then its coolant being burnt.
If its bluish tinted and smells like oil then thats what it is.

Compression is no good on the car. Check it.

If smoke is white, car is passing antifreeze/water.
If smoke is blue, car is passing oil.
if smoke is black, car is burning too much fuel.

I hope the thread starter isn't passed out from all the smoke. WTF If you have already solved your problem, update the thread so we don't waste our time and forum space.

well my compression was about 160 across besides one which was a little lower, i know im probably going to need to rebuild the motor, but while im in the process of purchasing a beater, i have to deal with the problem. well i dont know what a fpr is so im guessin no. okay, you know there's two valves deal on the valve cover...pcv and forgot wat the other one does. well, i have the other one kinda jus hanging cause i was told it was suppose to help the engine or something, but point is that white smoke is coming out of that and as soon as i plug it up HUGE white smoke just blazed at the muffler. the smoke is jus straight white, i dont really see a bluish tint but cant smell the coolant. it smells more like oil then other things. i really have no clue anymore what the problem could be. help

i think i found the problem. im now pretty sure it's a blown head gasket. i gotta test my compression one more time to make sure if it really is, but if not, then im back to square one.

Just had this problem with my 96 esi. It was the head gasket for me, odor less or sweet smelling white smoke is coolant burning off.

well, my compression drastically changed from the last time i did it(two months ago) it's now 160 160 150 and the sucky cylinder one 50. yes i said 50psi...so now i know my compression sucks and i probably fried the piston rings in cylinder one, im puttin my poor baby out of it's misery and hopefully pullin the motor out for a complete rebuild. soo...yup. that should be it for my question
