I am building a 6 bolt engine for my 97 GSX, and went to put the head on the block tonight and the thing wont slide over the studs. I did a search and found out about the 7 bolt heads needing bored out but as far as I can tell this is a 6 bolt head. Any ideas where I went wrong?

6-bolt head studs are 12mm, 7-bolt head studs are 11mm.

Check to see the size of the bolt bore is 12mm in your head. If not, it will need to be enlarged by 1mm.

If you take the stud out of your block, will it fit through the holes in your head?
