I have a AWD 1992 Federal 5speed DSM. I recently bought an eprom 92 ECU off ebay, but it's for a FWD 1992 Federal AUTO DSM (MD165529). Is the only difference the injector code? Any difference in the 5speed vs AUTO code? I have a chip programmer so I just want to make sure I'm not skipping anything that needs to be changed.

Just burn a new EPROM with the E931 code. I haven't looked closely at the E932 ATX code to see all of what's different but I have put the E931 code in a few ECUs that started life setup as automatics. Beside the Park/Neutral input the ECU and trans don't communicate they share inputs from the TPS and VSS.

Thanks, Steve. I don't know W-T-F I was thinking since it's an EPROM chip anyway, I'd be burning the standard E391 DSM-ECU group provides with the correct fuel maps and injector sizes (which would have been changed anyway). I guess I just wasn't sure on the automatic tcm communication with this ecu. Thanks for the clarification :thumb:

So if one intends to go with DSMLink... does it matter if the ECU that is being used is from a 1990 FWD and I want it for a 1990 AWD?
