Steering vibrations...

I went to the track on sunday and was doing pretty well until my last run. When i was at the staging lanes turning right to get in line for the start, it felt like i ran over something and i heard a loud pop. i get out and see nothing wrong. Well i get to the lights and launch and the car is shaking pretty bad. so i get off it and coast down. I inspect my car afterwards and everything seems ok. we leave and heading down the freeway i do some high speed pulls. nothing at high speed, little while acellerating. When i'm going from a stop though, i get lots of vibration, and when i goose it, my front tires will squeal.

I got home, and let it sit overnight, and yesterday i jacked up my car, and turn my steering wheel, there is some pretty big slack in the rack. it thunks when i got from left to right quickly. also, my tires are kinda loose when i grab them and shake them laterally (worn tie rod). Any ideas?

Ball joints possibly?

Have you checked where the shock towers mount to the car to see if anything is loose?

Did you do any suspension mods recently?

hey bro, long time no see on here.

I jacked up the car and grabbed the side of the drivers side tire (9 and 3 o'clock) and shook it and i only got lateral play (steering direction). I haven't touched the suspension, so it shouldn't be that. i'll check the shock towers though.
