just bought 91 eagle talon tsi awd for 300 bucks , i think the deal is pretty sweet. car isn't running but this is all the repairs done to it

Brand new tires on 95 talon rims, its a automatic with a 14b turbo clean body and interior. It has cross drilled front rotors and is a big brake dsm with out abs. K/N filter and a upgraded downpipe, turbo(no shaftplay) with a turbo xs manual boost controler. The car has 390 injectors on it and will throw in a fresh set of 450s, fresh head with new pistons on the car and new timing belt and starter and batterey and head gasket. Viper alarm on the car, it has 113,xxx miles. Low compression in the motor new ngk plugs.

its not running and the guy told me its something on the bottom end. what could it be guys. am thinking crankshaft maybe??? the guy said he just got the valves and everything redone.

new owner looking for some advice

Slipped or shredded timing belt is the usual cause of dead DSM's that are for sale cheap. If you have (close to) zero compression on any cylinder, this is a likely suspect.

the guy told me the timing belt was changed he has reciept and everything, thats why i didn't really suspect that. my friend told me that the valve on the first cylinder might not be closing during the compression stroke which could prevent the car from turning over. if that makes sense to anyone. but thing is timing chain, head resurfacing, pistons, head gasket, and valve job all been done. guy said one day he came to start it and it wouldnt start.

any other ideas??????

i am testing compression tommorow. but the guy said the shop told him that the bottom end needed to be replace. no biggie i have a bottom i bought for 150 with less than 50,000 miles on it. as far as the head i got reciepts with warranties on everything from the timing belt to the piston work to the head resurfacing work. now if i can get a point in the direction of a vfaq that shows how to remove the head and such. i found a guy tha will install bottom end very very cheap if i have the head removed before he gets there.

on a side note, on these particular year what are the major things i should do to make sure she stays running decent. i'm thinking,

engine diagnostic
oil change
tranny and coolant change
replace radiator fans
turbo has no shaft play at all so am good on that front

any other specific suggestions give let me know. i also prefer to do repairs myself as well so if vfaq or online manuals are available link me, i have no problem learning.
