I recently came across a blown eclipse. I got it for a good deal. Well, my friend has a VR-4 motor that is "supposedly" wicked. It dyno'd like 3 or 400 HP. I'm not really for sure how much. He is wanting to sell it to me for a pretty good deal. Is it worth it? Can I fit it in a 96-99 Eclipse. Any Pro's and Con's over the stock motor? Please help me out. I am pretty new at some of this stuff...

Thanks.
Dustin

What if it is a Vr-4? Is it worth the hassle? the way that he talks this engine is like a super engine or something. Which he might just be pulling my leg?

if he's making over 300 hp i'm sure he knows whats in the motor and bolt ons. have him come up with a list of mods he's including with the motor and come back and post it. then we'll tell if it's possible he's not bullshitting you.
