oil leak

yeah i just bought my first dsm a 90 tsi and its got an oil leak its leaking like around the alternator and oil filter everything is on there tight. i was talking to another guy at the track and he had the same problem he said is was a front seal but i dont know what the frick a front seal is so if anyone could help me out! thanks

it could possibly just be the lines runnin to the oil cooler... i've had 2 90s and on both they both leaked from that same place

best solution would be to take off the timing belt cover and look in there. If you dont' see any obvious leaks, hook up the alternator/water pump belt and start it up. If there was a leak present, it should show itself after the car as warmed up and the oil has thinned out.
