Well, my automatic tensioner was bad on my 90 laser turbo, so i replaced it.. all i did was take off the belt and crank pulley.. poulled off the auto tensioner.. put the new one in a vise, compressed it, routed the belt, and set the tension.. just like I was supposed to. Ok, it runs correctly, but damn if there isnt alot of oil leaking onto my timing belt.. i cant figure out where its coming from.. but its getting flung all over the place. I found one bolt missing from on top the oil pump housing.. so i put a bolt in it.. didnt do the trick.. ?? This didnt happen before i replaced the tensioner.. so maybe i knocked something loose?? Anyone have this problem before??

have fun replacing your timing belt...

I replaced mine 3 times within 10k miles because oilspilled on it 2wice and my balance belt broke once and took my timing belt with it...

Seriously any oil on timing belt and you need to fix the problem and then replace the timing belt...

Front cover, front main, cam seals, or VC gasket are pretty much the only places that could be leaking onto the timing belt.

Like JessesTalon said you need to replace the belt again, find the leak and clean EVERYTHING. You DONT want oil on your timing belt.

And when you compressed the auto tensioner, I hope you did it VERY, VERY slowly (like 1/4 turn of the vise, wait 30 sec, repeat) as it needs time to settle. Otherwise you may have blown it's seals and oil will come out.
