when i went to change my plugs yesterday, i noticed that 3 were burning perfectly and one was not. at first glance, i thought it was the timing because it seemed to be soft/soot covered and smelled like gas, but upon further inspection im pretty sure its either the rings or a valve problem in that cylinder. i know that i need to do a compression check to be absolutely sure, but what would you guys think. btw, i pulled the plug wire off it and the way the car was running didnt change at all. i put another plug on the wire and it was firing strong, so im pretty sure its not an ignition problem. any opinions would be valued. the car is a 90 tsi awd, with no real mods-just an mbc(set at stock), dp, 2g manifold, catback and safc(no correction set).
