Hey guys,

So a long time ago I got a CEL and it was/is a P0120 : Throttle Position Sensor

I finally hooked up a multimeter and measured the sweep and at closed it reads .6 and smoothly goes all the way up to 4.3k Ohms as I open the throttle plate.

Ya so good news is it moves smoothly, but is it out of spec? Haynes manual says it should read between ~3k and ~6k (I dont remember exactly what it says atm), I presume that the maximum value whould be within the range they are specifying.

VFAQ says that base should be set to .9 and that it should sweep all the way to 5k.

So I'm wondering basically, is that why my CEL is on? Because my sweep isn't going from .9-5k?

Throw any and every idea you have pls. I'm going to try to adjust it before getting a new one but I wont have any more time to tinker with it for almost a week anyway.

Thanks for any input.

Just because it get's minimum and maximum ranges doesn't mean it's still good. You could have dead spots in it where the voltage will go to 0v and chances are the multimeter isn't fast enough to pick it up. The only way to know for sure is to hook up a scope and watch the pattern.
