Ok, I just bought a 1g 2.0 n/t and its the first n/t 4g63 I have owned. I fixed everything wrong with the car except the vacuum lines have me confused. The middle vacuum line off of the tb is hooked up to the purge control seleniod, I have that far, but thats it. I can't find the thermo valve or egr valve. The vacuum lines are there but im afriad they were picked off and bought. Can anyone explain where these two things are???
thanks in advance

ok bringing this post back. im in the same boat. i have a 92 laser 2.0 N/T. idk where the thermo valve is. i just capped off all my vacuum lines yesterday. im waiting for my egr block off plate to come in the mail. so i just have it capped and still bolted on. i've searched the forums and if the answer to this is there i haven't found it. is it ok to have every vac line capped off? i followed this guide Tech Guide: 1G 4G63t Upgrades: Stage 0 Power - DSMtuners which clearly said cap everything but im not so sure thats right just looking for reassurance.

ok, assuming neither of you have the california emissions car, this should help.
listing is from the firewall side of the throttle body to the front bumper side(if you are standing in front of the car looking at the engine-furthest to closest)
1. leads from throttle body to a T in the vacume line.
a. one line will run to the EGR valve which is located under the throttle body on the intake manifold
b. the second line will run to the thermo valve which is located on the front side of the thermostat housing and will have 2 vacume nipples sticking out of it.

2. leads to the purge control valve which is located on the firewall very close to the throttle body. the other side of the purge valve runs to a charcoal canister located beneath the battery box.( this system is there to expell exsess fumes from building up in the system to prevent vapor lock)

3. leads back to the thermo valve on the thermostat housing on the second nipple. you can remove this thermo valve completely if you wish to do so. but remember to replace it with some sort of plug.

as for removing all of the vacume components, there are several post's comcerning the removal of the components. satisfaction depends on your opinion of fuel mileage as removing all of this reduces milage but prevents a lot of headaches during problem diagnosis. if you need any more info just PM me and i will do my best to help. HAPPY TUNING!:)
