So i bought my first DSM today which i beleive qualifies me as a noob. Anyway im having some trouble with the ignition. The key will not turn all the way back to lock which means a couple of lights remain on. i then have to remove the battery cable from the terminal so my car doesnt die. I think its a quick/cheap fix but im looking for some specific reasons on why this is happening and how to fix it. I skimmed through vfaq and didnt find much, thank you-E

i dont have that button. Im in an 1g eagle talon if that helps. the guy i bought it off of said that is was a pin or something within the steering column. any ideas?

no there is no hole there. I tried pressing in the key to turn it more and it didnt budge at all.

are you sure the wheel isn't turned in that lock where you can't move the key..another words try moving the steering wheel left or right while you turn the key back.

So i think i figured it out. I just noticed that the key doesnt even go in all the way. Which leaves me to believe that ther eis something in the keyhole. Ill have to take it apart and see what i find. I also realized that i can start my car with anything strong enough to turn the key hole. Like a screw driver knife, or thumb nail. Please dont steal me car.
