ok we just got my s-afc in and it dies when i press in the clutch and let it rev all the way down like coming to a stop sighn, my freind set it at 0% low thr. and 0%high thr. and now it will idel and drive but as soon as i get to a stop and let it rev all the way down it dies and my altrnator belts sqweeling like a piggy :thumbdown help please!

1. did you set up the safc correctly?

low=30 hi=80, set to karmen units and 4 cylinders(if set to wrong cylinders, rpm signal will be wrong)

2. reconnect the maf wires directly to the ecu(like stock) and see if the car runs fine then.

3. time for a new alt?

1. the s-afc is wired up right

2. so should i have 30% low all the way across the grib thing and 80 for high???

3 my my belt on the alternator doensnt have much grooving left i think its skipping

thanks for helping i hope i can fix it by tomarrow i need it!

1. Check twice, be sure.
2. No, I think he was referring to the throttle points not the fuel correction. Leave the correction at 0% until you have your other issue worked out.

3. Replace your alternator belt immediately, check your battery as well.

i put the low thr. thing 30% to all the points all the way across the bar graph looking think and it still dies when i stop and let it rev all the way down

ok i put the 30 80% in the right place and it dies still ill put the low thr. bar graph thing all back to 0% ... i guess it cant be hooked up right i dident do it becuase i dident wanna tempt it but my freind who did it befor on his gst put it in and he whent home  :thumbdown im stuck and need the car for work and the wife

ok well since i really need my car tomarrow i whent out to cut the pink and ornage wires the ones that deal with the fuel to ecu and o2 and fuel or somthing... and i was un-rapping the tape on the connections ( i have extra wire from that s-afc to the ecu because it dident reach so theres extra line ) and i broke 3 and not knowing wear the "f" they becuase they pulled out of a crunch thing wear you crimp the wire ends in, and so i freaked out and yanked the s-afc out and now the car wont run!!!! help!@#? :thumbdown

Find all the wires he cut and spliced into, and re-attach them to the wires that are the same color.

yea i just had to wire the pink and orange splice back to stock, the blue/yellow wire, and now it runs

^^^ok when i posted that it ran like crap, but still ran im not trying to bump but to educate becuase it says when you fix your porblem you have to post it. well after i rehooked tha s-afc back up to try again it did the same thing it dieid comeing to a top but then i when and turned the low thr. curve to 45%,15%10,%4,%4%,4% and then i hacked the MAF now it runs great and it stopped running super rich like it was, good luck to all.
