I have a question about installing a 2g mass air sensor in a 1g car. I recently put a 2g mass from a gsx in my tsi awd 1g talon. I used the v faqs page to wire it in. My question is, there is a wire on the 1g harness (#1) that is called the idle position switch that does not have a match on the 2g plug. On the 2g plug, there is a wire, the volume air flow sensor, that does not have a match to the 1g wiring harness. In the V-faq diagram, both of these wires are in bold. I am not sure if I should conect the two or leave them separated. Any help would be greatly appreciated, expecially if you have done this before and gotten it to work. Thanks, Nate

My guess is somewhere down the road when Tom ws putting that VFAQ together he mixed up the diagrams he was using (The pins for MAF reset and IPS swapped at the ECU between '90 and 91+). Pin 1 on a 1G MAF is the reset signal from the ECU. He shows it going to pin 7 on the 2G MAF plug in the later tables. As I would guess it should be.

What, I'm gonna have to check the plug I did two months ago which I've not install yet. Thanks for posting this thread.
