my 1gb gsx can rev and drive up to seven but after about 4,000 rpm it roars super loud in the engine bay, exhaust leak? its quite loud. and this morning i went out and truned on my car and scraped the windows left it running and went back inside for a minute or two. when i went back outside i noticed that the snow was melted up by where the intake manifold is located... could it be leaking there??? reply if you know or if you think that you know. thanks.

I doubt the sound you are hearing would be caused by a leak around the intake mani, you'd probably also have other symptoms with a boost leak like that. It could be an exhaust leak, my car would make a noticeablly different sound one I achieved boost with an exhaust leak. My car also made a hell of a lot of noise when a balance shaft bearing took a crap on me, the sound wasnt present at idle or light acceleration but from 3k up it made a hell of a sound as the balance shaft wobbled around in there, and if thats the case quit driving before you kill something else in there. Good luck.

If you're planning to use seafoam or MCCC anytime soon, that will find the exhaust leak. I had one where the o2 housing and the turbo meet, but it was nothing major.
