Problem started yesterday, going through carwash and while sitting in neutral noticed the battery light coming on. Came out and started driving and when I would accelerate, the lights would dim, when I would slow down, they would come back on. This happened all the way home, and I noticed that the headlights and dash lights would dim when I slowed down or stopped as well. I went to start it again after I stopped it and it wouldn't start. I jumped it and it started right up. I left it running for a while, and it eventually died again (maybe 45-60 minutes). Now it won't start again. This screams "bad alternator" to me, what do you think?

No time to have it rebuilt, I'm missing work already...looks like it's Autozone for me! :(

How bad is the replacement procedure? Am I going to be really, really pissed about doing it outside in the freezing cold?

It gets easier after awhile, the first time is a pain. I'm on my third one already...
