I have been turning on my fans by turning on the AC which is currently not in the car.
I noticed on my logger that my coolant temp was 201, which is a bit high, I normally run between 192 and 197. So I turned the fan on manually with the AC, but it did not turn on.
I checked the fuse for the fan, and it was fine, I checked the relay for the rad fan and when I took the cover off the relay, if I pressed in the one side of the relay, forcing a connection, the fan would come on. I thought it was a bad relay, but I swapped in numerous other relays out of my car and another car and the fan did not come on.
The only way for me to get the fan to turn on is to physically force a connection inside the relay. Good to know if I ever have a problem overheating, but certainly not a solution as the fan will not turn off when I do that.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd like to get my fan to function normally again.
(I have the AC fan out, this is just dealing with the main cooling fan, which also turns on with the AC)
