whats up guys, got another idle surge problem. I've gone over a bunch of stuff trying to figure out why i have idle surge only during first in the morning starts or if its cold out (50 or lower all day long) it will do it all day long. Like you have heard from everybody else i have the common idle surge prolbem, with the idle jumping from 1500-2000. I have gone over my car a couple times for vacuum and boost leaks, i have not found any yet. I've checked the BISS, the screw and the o ring are in good shape only about 13,000 miles on the o ring, its pretty new. Last night i just checked my ISC motor with the ohm meter. I saw on another web site what the ohm meter readings would be for a bad ISC motor, from what i remember i think they were 30 ohms when the car is cold that the motor is bad, i forget what the reading should be when the car is hot. Well when i tested it last night when the cold the reading was 28.5 and when the car was running for a while and hot and just turned off the reading was 12.5. I just swapped a 6 bolt into my car not too long ago and now the motor has about 13,000 miles on it. I've had the idle surge since the motor was put in but it used to not be this bad and has just been getting worse and worse. I really would like to fix it soon since it sounds really annoying and bad and its a pain to drive like that. Even though a new ISC motor is around 220 bucks i kind of hope that is the problem so i could just buy that and put it on and have it fixed, and not have to worry about it anymore. But if u guys could give me any feed back on those ohm meter readings or anything else i could try and check on my car. thanks for your time and replies.

I am having the same problem with my six bolt also. today, I put some fuel injector cleaner in the car and now it runs okay. I have to see how it will be within a couple of days.

One more thing. When i disconnected the wire harness connecter from the ISC motor there should be 6 pins right? Well, on mine there were only 4, i thought there were supposed to be 6. On all the different web sites i have checked out i have only seen 6 pins in the ISC motor never 4 so im not sure why mine is like that. I have a 97 gsx with a 6 bolt swap, 2g head w/ 2g intake manifold but 1g throttle body. Maybe that will help. thanks for any replies.

My car got used to having the nice 60 degree weather down at school in south carolina, but now im up at school on break and its like 30 degrees up here in jersey. Luckily i have another beater car (86' 200sx) to drive around in the winter time. But i used injector cleaner when i got home to see if maybe that would help at all but it didnt seem to do anything. In two weeks i have a dyno tuning session at turbotrix and i would like to get this fixed before then. Before i go I'm changing my gear oil, coolant, oil and filter, and air filter and making a heat shield for the air filter, so when i do all that ill probably throw another injector cleaner bottle in there just for the h*ll of it.

Can anybody give me any info on my ISC motor readings that i got? I really need help with trying to get this fixed, i've tried lots of stuff and so far nothing seems to be helping. The readings from my ISC motor are in the first post. The only thing i could think of left is to block off my FIAV. Doesn't the FIAV help aid in cold starts? I'm from NJ but i go to school in SC, so the cold starts arent that much of a prolbem now but i am still home for a little over a month during the winter time in NJ and with no FIAV, wont i have problems with starting my car. Besides the ISC motor, since i havent gotten any feedback on the readings yet, the FIAV is the only thing left that i can think of on my car to help fix my idle surge problem. So if you guys could please help me out and let me know what you think, thanks.
