I installed a new 3" intake pipe. I got in my car to test it out and when I gassed it the boost jumped to 30 psi. so I shut it down and turned the boost down several times and it is still going to almost 30 psi. The boost controller is now turned all the way down. I checked to see if the pipe was pushed against the wastegate vacuum hose and pinching it, dont seem to be, but it is pushed up to it. If anyone has any idea what else it could be let me know.

Yes, I am tapped into the bov vac line. I will unhook the boost controller and see what that does. I will post back on here and let you guys know whats going on after I unhook it.

Jesus. Look at the boost gauge and if it creeps above 15psi (after dialing it all the way down) let off the gas. Don't wait for it to peg at 30psi. Obviously the boost signal is not reaching the WG actuator either from a bad MBC or incorrect installation of vacuum hoses somewhere.

If you have the factory BCS, hook it back up and see what happens first.

first of all it was set to 20 psi before I put the pipe on and second of all it boosts up so quick that by the time i see it pass 20 psi it is already almost to 30. I back off as soon as I see it pass 20 psi. And third the only reason I would let it go past 20 was to see if it made any difference at all when I turned down the boost controller. Thanks for your input though.

I hooked my factory bcs back up and that didnt work so I took the new pipe off and examined the vacuum lines and found a tiny pinhole in the vacuum line right by the wastegate inlet so I cut it off at the hole and put it back on and it is at 13 psi, so I got it under control now. Thanks to everyone for their help.

yes it was, devil sperm. But not so fun if I had to replace the pistons. Thanks again for your help. :thumb:

3" intake is to big to clear the actuator nipple of 14b or 16g's, check the hose from MBC to actuator for damage. I had to bend the nipple a little to make mine 3" intake fit properly.
