I'm so confused, I have no idea what happened.

My 92 talon tsi awd broke down on the highway. I was speeding along nicely, and I slowed down to pay the toll. When I went to pull away from the toll, the car wouldn't move. It felt like the gas pedal broke or like the throttle cable snapped.

I got out of the car and tried to manually move the throttle body, opened it wide open and the car wouldn't rev at all. Then it just sputtled and died. The car turns over but just won't start. I checked the timing belt and it's perfect. It was like 1 am and snowing, so I didn't really have time to check all the possiblities. Anyone ever have this happen to them? I don't even know where to start.

Also, anybody on here live in the philly area with a flat bed that can help me out with like tow to their house and help me figure out what might be wrong? I'll pay for your gas and your time and everything, I'd rather spend my money on a fellow dsmer then a tow company. The car is right after the walt whitman bridge after the toll, if you need an idea of how far away it is from you.

Please PM me or hit me on aim if you can help me out, i'd really appreciate it.

did an IC pipe pop off? Not sure if this would affect an n/t that much but on a turbo it can cause that. Spark? Fuel? good luck

It sucks when your car gets @#$@#'d far away from the house.

The best thing for you is to just have it towed (flatbed) home. It sucks to have to pay for it, but this way you can take your time finding the problem with all of your tools and beer present. Not freezing to death on the side of the road is a bonus, too.

I'm thinking a sensor became loose or something along those lines. Anyone know if the TPS, CAS, MAF sensor or O2 sensor would cause something like this where the even if you opened the throttle, the car doesn't rev?

I'm going to check the spark plug wells to see if maybe the plugs went bad or it's just completely flooded with oil, but definately feeling like a sensor at this point.

Or maybe there's something wrong with fuel delivery? Maybe a bad fuel filter?
