Brand new head installed, new plugs, wires the whole nine yards, Car is backfiring through intake and smoking from intake. Could anyone give me a second opinion on how to get this thing started?

Thanks

It seems to me like the timing belt was installed incorrectly (ie. all timing marks were not properly alligned) and you may have bent valves as suggested. However, the first thing you need to do is drop the timing belt covers and check ALL your marks to be sure they are correctly alligned. If they are, do a compression test and go from there. :thumb:

also maybe check to make sure the wires are on the coil in the correct order, i have heard when they are on wrong and have heard some backfires, i think it was out the exhaust though

We did finally figure it out, I have AEM adjustable cam gears so there a little different, It was out of time. I do thanks you guys for your help and opinions.

Thanks, again
