BOV sounds like a horse?

Please don't kill me for this post, and yes I have searched all over. I am just wondering if it is normal for a Greddy Type-s to sound like a horse at low boost? I cant really tell if it is compressor surge or BOV flutter, but I have alot of threads showing right now, but the car still holds boost. But no matter how loose I go, the valve still, best way to explain it, sounds like a horse?! What makes that noise..

Spring is too tight. Loosen it a bit.

Edit: Just read the rest of your post. Check if theres any kinks in the vacumm line going from the BOV to the intake manifold. I had that when I installed my Type S and it made same sound.

Thanks, I will check that, could the size of the hose make a difference? I am using a larger hose then the one that came with the greddy, the stock hose size (Inner Diameter wise). I dont have anything T'ed off of the BOV manifold line as I heard that can cause trouble too.

I am still using stock BOV vacum line as well. I doubt it would make a difference.

Are you using the lower nipple of the greddy at all? I hear that helps at times, but right now the compressor housing nipple is hooked up to my MBC...

Would I notice it harder to tune the MBC if I hooked it up to the BOV line? I am planning on using the smaller 4 mm hoses.

Hooked up the lower nipple, and wow, much better! I still get alittle bit of a flutter if I let off as I am climbing out of vacum, and sometimes a short flutter if I let off at about 5psi or so, now that is only at low speeds and RPMs. Hey remember that guide by Wobble? If not search for it, but I tried his method and my plunger did not seem to move at all at idle no matter how loose I made the screw..anyone else?

I'm not sure WSU99GSX is talking about compression surge.. does it make this pathetic kinda goooosh only at low psi, but then function correctly at higher psi? If so, that's pretty normal.

Not so much a goooosh, but kinda studdering. Best way to explain it, sounds like a horse...LOL
