ok my 91 tsi just got cause 14b cuz my old one went ker- POW.
anyways it wasnt boosting hard at all my autometer gauge was saying like 6 or 7 psi @ WOT. put my nifty homemade boost leak detector on there and no boost leaks up to 20 psi.
so i wired the wategate closed and i STILL only get 9 psi boost.
what am i missing here.
my turbo to mainfold gasket is leaking considerably
could that cause it?
or is my "new to me" TURBO no good? it seems to spin freely with minimal shaft play i just dont get it... seems simple enough....
p.s. i also dropped the exhaust behind the o2 housing, same thing 9 psi wastegate wired closed.
